Daytona Beach, FL---Don't start your engines up just yet NASCAR fans, but it is ok to get pumped. We are just one week away from the beginning of the 2014 NASCAR season and this year's Daytona 500.
Sunday did kick off qualifying, where a familiar number found itself on top.
Dale Earnhart's historic number 3 has been brought out of retirement by Richard Childress Racing, as talented rookie and Childress' grandson Austin Dillon, raced it to pole position, reaching speeds over 196 miles per hour.
Joining Dillon on the front row is Martin Truex, Jr., while the rest of the field will be set Thursday.
That's where the team put together by local businessman James Finch will hope to qualify for the big one.
This past summer, Finch sold control of his Phoenix Racing, now called H. Scott Motorsports, but is still involved and has Bobby Labonte racing the 52 car.
The second car the team's entered is the 51 driven by Justin Allgaier.
The 2014 Daytona 500 begins Sunday, February 23rd at Noon central time.
