Dolphins Beat Rams, Advance to District Title Match


Panama City Beach, FL---It will be Mosley and Bay in the 3A district 2 boy's soccer final Friday night at Gavlak. Both those teams winning their district tournament semifinals Tuesday night on the Arnold campus.

Mosley winning the second of those semi's, beating Rutherford 2-0. The Dolphins getting a shutout from keeper Alex Gentili. Both goals coming from Alex Burgans, both in the second half.

The Dolphins now 12-1-2, guaranteed a state playoff berth. They go for the title and the advantage of starting those playoffs at home, Friday night at 7.

The Rams in the dark uniforms and with an early opportunity, #17 Quentin Reese gets the loose ball in front, he shoots, that's deflected by Anthony Gentili, and that almost winds up as an own goal, but his brother Alex Gentili saves it!

Later in the first half, Mosley with an opportunity, Tyler White with the inlet pass ahead to Jake Palmer, but he can't get enough on his shot to get it past Mohommed Abulela.

Then late in the half, another chance for the Dolphins, Palmer again with the shot, which bounces off the post, and is covered by Abulela. Scoreless at the half, Mosley's Alex Burgans scores twice in the second half, and Mosley wins 2-0.
