LYNN HAVEN-- The Mosley Dolphins who are heading into their second season under head coach Jeremy Brown.
After a 2012 season where they posted a 3-7 record, the 'Fins underwent a three game improvement last year to 6-4. So optimistic is probably an understatement for the Dolphins these days!
"We feel good, we feel good." exclaims coach Brown. "We had a great offseason. Our first week last week, we got a lot out of it. We worked on some fundamentals, and we're excited about it. We're going to dress about 56 on the varsity level and about 45 on the j.v. so our numbers are up. All the 56 guys on the varsity, we expect all of them to contribute somewhere, whether it's offense, defense or special teams."
As the coach said the numbers are good for a 5A program. And those numbers, said coach Brown, include a number of senior leaders, including many on the offense, which last season averaged 30 points and over 430 yards per game.
"Dillon Brown had a great year, threw for 1,700 yards. Reakwon Jones we think he has the chance to be a great player. He's already committed to FAU. So anytime you've got a division one guy in your program you know expect big things from him. Trey Trzaska is another senior leader who has been phenomenal in the offseason in his commitment. He's great in the classroom. We think those guys are gonna lead the team and really take us to where we want to go."
The Dolphins travel to St. Pete for their preseason classic on the 22, then travel to Leon to start the regular season on Thursday the 28th.
