Panama City Beach, FL---Can Mosley make it three for three against Arnold, or will the Lady Marlins win Friday and claim the 3A-2 district title?
That question to be answered Friday night when the girl's soccer teams of Mosley and Arnold go head to head in the district title match at Gavlak at 7 o'clock Friday night.
Both teams are guaranteed state berths, since both the district champ and runner up go to the playoffs.
Arnold making it to the final with a 3-0 win over Bay Tuesday in their semifinal. Mosley won it's semifinal over Rutherford, a 6-0 victory in that match Tuesday.
That sets them up head to head Friday , both very much wanting that title, and to be able to start the playoffs at home! The Lady Marlins have a little extra motivation as well.
"It's always a game that we extremely look forward to." says Arnold senior Autumn Jaworski. "Every year that I've been here, it's a county rivalry. It's always been a big deal for us. And we just go out there and give it the best we've got. Personally I would love to beat Mosley. It hasn't happened for us in the time that I've been here, so it would definitely be a personal check off the bucket list here at Arnold."
Another Arnold senior Alexa Schultz admits to some nerves heading into the match Friday.
"I think all of us are a little bit nervous but we're also really, really excited. And we're ready to go out there and show them that what they've seen this season isn't all that we have."
Alexa referring to the two regular season matches in which Mosley beat Arnold, 2-1, and 2-0.
