Lynn Haven, FL---The Mosley Dolphins get a thrilling come from behind win to beat 6A district 2 rival Niceville Tuesday night at Frank Field, 6-5 the final in 8 innings.
The win takes Mosley to 7-1 overall, 4-1 in district play. Niceville falling to 3-2, and 2-2.
Early on it looked as if neither team wanted to score, despite numerous opportunities to do so. Niceville starter Nick Junger able to get out of two early jams with inning ending double plays.
Mosley Starter Joey Hair also pitching in and out of trouble, but getting key strikeouts to avoid yielding any runs through the first three frames.
In the 4th though, the Eagles are able to put up 4 runs with just one hit. A sacrifice fly plating the first of those four, errors allowing the other three to come in.
Mosley though counters with a two run homer from Logan Quimuyog and a solo shot from Jordan Larry which helped eventually tie the game at 5 through 7 innings.
Then in the bottom of the 8th, a walk to Larry, a double by Zach Rhodes and an intentional walk to Quimoyog loaded the bases for Bowen McGuffin who delivered the game winning run with a single, his 10th hit in his last 11 at bats.
The attached video shows the following:
