Lynn Haven, FL---It is another big district game on the road for first year coach Jeremy Brown and his Mosley Dolphins come Friday night.
The 'fins are coming off their second win of the season, and first in 5-A 1 play last Friday, the 49-14 win at Arnold.
This week the Dolphins hoping to carry that momentum even further to the west as they head over to Pensacola to face Catholic! Mosley Head Coach Jeremy Brown says his players and his coaches came away with serious enthusiasm following the win at Arnold, but for different reasons.
"Yeah the kids are excited, you know it's a county rivalry. They like playing against those guys, we feel like they went out and played well. From a coaches standpoint we're excited because we played better on special teams. We tackled better. That's some of the stuff we've been working on. We saw improvement on the field. You know I think for the kids, they beat Arnold, they beat a county team. When you do that, the kids get excited and hopefully there's some carryover."
Catholic is 5-0, with two district wins under the belt, those wins coming against Bay and Rutherford. Certainly coach Brown knows a lot about the Crusaders program and has respect for it.
"That's the kind of program we want to be" says Brown.."We want to be a school that's respected every time you walk on the field. We wanna be a school that when people see you on the schedule they say that's gonna be a good game. They're just so fundamentally sound. They're very athletic on defense. They're big up front, their linebackers can run. Offensively they're similar to West Florida, they do what they do really well."
So the Dolphins have their hands full come Friday. That one of several games we're efforting for highlights on Friday Night Overtime.
