Gainesville, FL---It seems clear the Florida Gators belong among the nation's elite. That based on just a 6 game sample mind you, but on the way to it's 6 and oh mark Florida does have wins over a ranked Wisconsin team along with teams like Marquette and UCF.
Certainly the offense is clicking, averaging 73 a game, they can play inside and outside.
Perhaps though the key to the Gators success thus far, a defense that's giving up just 48 points a game. Billy Donovan says that's a product of serious work his guys have put in leading up to this season and beyond.
"They have worked very hard with a commitment to getting better there. And I do think with certain lineups we have the chance to be really good defensively. I think at times when we have Patric Young, Yeguette, Wilbiken and Prather on the floor, we're in zone, or we're in man, we're long, rangy, quick, athletic and we can rebound. And we're disruptive. But our guys have made a really good strong commitment to trying to get better defensively. Again we also showed what we can be by giving up 8 of ten in the second half to UCF from the three point line, so we gotta keep working to get better at that."
Florida with a couple of big road tests dead ahead, Wednesday they face the 4-3 Seminoles in Tallahassee. Then a week from Saturday they travel to face 8th ranked Arizona.
