Eagles Leave for Orlando

Niceville, FL---For the Niceville football team the trip is on!

The Eagles loading up the team bus and pulling out of the high school around 9 Thursday morning on the way to Orlando, site of Friday night's 7a state championship.

It's not just the team though, making the trip south for the big game Friday!

"You know we've got five or six buses going with the band." says Niceville head coach John Hicks. "I know we've already got five spirit buses going down. You know plus cheerleaders, the football team. So I mean, last time we had a great crowd, we had, people flew in from different parts of the country. So we're gonna have a great crowd."

Coach referring to last time, the 2009 loss to Dwyer in the 5A state championship game in Gainesville.

Again the Eagles take a 13-1 record on to the field at the Citrus Bowl Friday against 14-0 Dwyer.

Niceville playing for it's second football state title, the first coming back in 1988 under coach Sorrells. They actually won that championship game on the home field and you talk about a capacity crowd that night!
