Eagles Set for Playoff Opener

Niceville, FL---The Niceville football team is getting set for a trip west Friday night, a trip coach Hicks and company hope will end with a playoff win.

The Eagles will take on Milton, in what is the final Southern Orthopedic Specialists game of the week this season.

Both these teams coming into their 6-A region quarterfinal with 3 losses. Niceville is 6-3 as it heads into the postseason, but that record not all that indicative of how the team's played in recent weeks!

"Well it looked pretty bleak early on,' says Niceville head coach John Hicks "we lost our first two district games you know, we were sitting there at 2-3. And we felt like we had a better football team than that. Then got some guys back who were injured and just kind of got on a roll. You know playing great defense, gave up three points to Fort Walton, gave up a few, can't remember how many to Mosley, gave up just 7 to Crestview. So we feel like we're playing pretty good now on both sides of the ball."

Niceville gave up just ten to Mosley. In fact the Eagles on a four game winning streak, beating those opponents by a combined 153 to 27.

So momentum certainly seems to be on their side as they get set to face Milton.
