FSU Names New Athletic Director

Tallahassee, FL---Florida State has named it's next Athletic Director.

That new A.D. is Stan Wilcox, who comes south from Duke University, where he was the Deputy Director of Athletics.

Wilcox a scholarship basketball player at Notre Dame. After getting a law degree from Brooklyn Law, he worked at his alma mater and with the Big East Conference before going to Duke.

He replaces Randy Spetman who was re-assigned within Florida State.

Chief among the tasks for Wilcox, who becomes the first African American A.D. at Florida State, will be finding new revenue streams for FSU athletics and bolstering fundraising, which has seen a bit of a dip in recent years.

Florida State hoping to upgrade both it's football stadium and basketball facility in the near future.
