FSU Prepping For Pittsburgh

Tallahassee, FL --- With the start of the season rapidly approaching, excitement is building in Tallahassee for Florida State.

Ranked 11th in the preseason polls, the Seminoles open play with a tough match up, going on the road to face new in-conference opponent Pittsburgh. Head coach Jimbo Fisher talked positively about where his team's at heading into a tough road trip in their week one conference match up vs. Pittsburgh.

"I like our team, as far as I like our work ethic. I hope we continue to prepare this week. That'll be very critical. We've got a huge challenge ahead of us going to the University of Pittsburgh. It’s gonna be a sold out game, gonna be a great stadium. That's a very loud stadium. (They’re) gonna be ready for the first ACC game. I mean, it'll be a really good environment, be a huge challenge for our team, and I think one where we need to make sure that we're not worried about playing the game, that we're worried about preparing for the game.

Jimbo also knows everything changes once the games start to count.

"Whether you're a veteran or not, you're still getting back in that game mode and having to do it for real,” says Fisher. “And as they say, the lights on the scoreboard, they matter now. So, (it’s about) getting those guys in that frame of mind. But, there's always gonna be jitters and once you get those first couple hits in, then you get to playing ball."

The Seminoles and Panthers will kick off Monday night at 7:00 PM on ESPN.
