TALLAHASSEE, Fla- The Florida State Seminoles will kickoff their season in about 20 days, and they opened up their campus to the media today to talk about this season. The annual media day taking place early Sunday morning at FSU. The team getting in their team, and group photos as well.
This is the second year under head coach Jimbo Fisher after a 10 win successful rookie campaign a year ago. The stakes and expectations are high for this team. They'll start the year ranked number five in the USA Today coaches poll, and they'll have alot of eyes on them early this season with pre-season number 1 Oklahoma coming to Doak Campbell in week 3.
Coach and his players are not buying into the hype, but they do recognize it's there.
Fisher said, "The word for the season is we live in the now. You know, expectations doesn't win you games. I mean that's part of the game. That's the reason we came to here, we embrace it. That's the reason I want to coach here, and the reason they want to come here. But we understand that we have to live in the now, and control what we can control. I say this, each game is a test in the fall. The only game I was nervous for was the one I didn't study for. We getting prepared to play right now. We're not worried about the future, we're not trying to predict it. We're just living in the now so when it comes we'll be prepared for it."
In the coming days we'll be hearing more from the team as they prepare for the season opener against Louisiana-Monroe on September 3rd at home.
