Fort Walton Beach, FL---The Fort Walton Beach Vikings are getting set for a non district sandwich, you might say, as they prepare to host Rutherford Friday night at Riggs Stadium.

This game our Southern Orthopedic Specialists Game of the Week.

Those Vike's have proven to be among this area's best teams so far thisseason, 3 wins in four tries, including a 28-14 win over Mosley last Friday in their district opener.

"I feel good about our bunch." says FWB head coach Mike Owens. "They're playing hard. Defensively we're creating a lot of turnovers. Offensively we're coming around, starting to gel, you know we still got to find a little bit of our identity there. But yeah, pretty pleased."

As for what this game means to Owens and his guys, well it's a non district game sandwiched in between district foes Mosley and Crestview, so any chance his guys won't be "all in" so to speak Friday night?

"You know I just keep talking to them about the process of becoming a champion is to every week get better. You know this game does not affect our record as far as our district and playoff aspirations. But it is an important game because the process of becoming a champion is you getting better and better each week.

Rutherford at Fort Walton, one of several games we'll feature on Friday Night Overtime, starting at 10:15.
