Lynn Haven, FL--- Lynn Haven's James Finch continues to piece together a plan for this year's Cup Series.
He's already lined up Spartanburg based Guy Roofing as a major sponsorship for Daytona. Now Finch has lined up a driver and sponsor for the Vegas race March 10th. Up and comer Austin Dillon will drive the 51 car in Vegas. He looks young, and he is, just 22.
But he's already begun to prove himself, having won the truck series last year. And he comes with the sponsor, Tag Heuer Eyewear.
And he comes with a strong relationship to RCR Racing, since he's Richard Childress' grandson.
Childress obviously trusts the youngster, since he's going to have Dillon drive the 33 car in the Daytona 500.
Finch will have Regan Smith drive the 51 Chevrolet in the 500.
As it turns out It's not been the best of starts for that relationship. Smith and the 51 car caught up in a test run crash Friday.
Junior got into Ambrose which sets off a chain reaction collecting McMurray, reigning cup champ Brad Kesolowski and Smith, among others. Ten cars in all banged up in this one.
Things already heating up at the Speedway even though the 500 is still over a month away.
