Gainesville, FL---It's definitely bad news tonight on the Florida football front. Gators standout defensive tackle Dominique Easley is out for the season.
It turns out the right knee injury he suffered in practice yesterday did in fact leave him with a torn acl and torn meniscus, which will require season ending surgery.
Coach Will Muschamp releasing a statement Wednesday night confirming all that adding "Watching any of your players go through this is one of the hardest things about being a coach. Obviously, it is hardest on Dominique. We are disappointed for him, but we will be there for him every step of the way through his surgery and rehab process."
This injury leaves Florida rather thin at defensive tackle on what's been a dominant line so far this season.
Oh by the way, quarterback Jeff Driskel had successful surgery today to repair his broken leg, and repair medial ligaments and ankle joints. Two tough losses for the Gators in the matter of 4 days.
