Ford Florida Ironman Triathlon Is Set For This Saturday At Panama City Beach

It’s that time of year when Bay County is the host of the Ford Florida Ironman Triathlon. Over 2000 athletes from all over the world come to swim, bike and run in this one day event which takes place this Saturday, November 6th.

As in the past the Bay County Sheriff's Office we want to remind the locals and visitors of Bay County that there will be some traffic concerns in the following areas:

Bicyclists will be on:

South Thomas Dr. and Front Beach Rd. West to Hwy 79 North from approx. 8:00 to 10:00

Hwy 79 North to CR 20 East from approx. 8:00 to 11:00

Hwy 20 East to Hwy 77 South from approx. 9:30 to 11:30

Hwy 77 South to CR 388 East from approx. 9:05 to 12:25

CR 388 East to RD 2301 / Blue Springs Rd at Turnaround from approx. 9:20 to 2:00

Hwy 20 West to Hwy 79 West from approx. 10:00 to 3:30

Hwy 79 South to Steelfield Rd / Turnaround / to Hwy 79 South from approx. 11:00 to 4:45

Hwy 79 South to Front Beach Rd from approx. 11:50 to 5:00

Front Beach Rd to South Thomas Dr. from approx. 12:00 to 5:30

Motorists need to be aware that the runners will be crossing Thomas Drive at Utes St. and back again at Irwin St.. The running portion will also take the athletes into the State Park. The hours for the run are between 12:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
