Former Chipola Coach Jans Hired at Bowling Green

Bowling Green, OH---Former Chipola men's basketball head coach Chris Jans has now is a head coach on the Division I level.

The man who used to lead the Indians sidelines has officially been named the new head coach at Bowling Green State University.

In just one season at Marianna in 2004, Jans finished 32-5, won the Panhandle and State title and finished sixth at Nationals.

He's been an assistant at Wichita State since 2007 and was named associate head coach in 2011, helping lead the program to their historic 35-0 start this season, before falling to Kentucky in the round of 32 in the NCAA Tournament Sunday.

Jans inherits a Falcons program that finished last in the MAC East division last season, posting a record of 12-20 (6-13) under Louis Orr, who was fired March 11th.

In six seasons as a head coach on the junior college level, Chris holds a career record of 159-45, posting more than 20 wins each year.
