Fort Walton Beach FInishes Third at State Weightlifting Finals

Kissemmee, FL---The FHSAA held day two of the boy's state weightlifting finals Saturday, as competitors from 2A schools took to the bench at the Kissemmee Civic Center.

Friday saw three locals win individual titles.

Saturday had three local programs, Fort Walton Beach, Niceville, and Mosley, in the field.

Fort Walton Beach's Xavier Gibson took home the title in the 139 pound weight class, winning for the second year in a row and placing for the third straight time.

The Vikings placed seven lifters in total, good to finish in third place in the overall standings.

Justin Scott (119 lb - 6th), Gibson, Marques Davenport (139 lb - 5th), Antonio Marshall (154 lb - 6th), Allen Anderson (199 lb - 6th), Ellis Warren (219 lb - 6th), and Charlie Brenner (Hvy - 4th) make up the Fort Walton Beach lifters who received medals.

Kyle Nida (183 lb - 3rd) and Michell Matthews (238 - 3rd) both placed for Niceville.
