Fort Walton Beach alum Danny Wuerffel to be forever memorialized at the University of Florida's stadium, alongside fellow Gator great Steve Spurrier and Tim Tebow.

Gainesville, FL--Fort Walton Beach alum Danny Wuerffel should forever live in the memories of University of Florida football fans for all he accomplished as the Gators q-b in the mid 90's. After next month,he'll be memorialized outside the stadium so fans can never forget him. The University announcing Thursday life sized sculptures of Wuerffel, Steve Spurrier and Tim Tebow will be unveiled outside Ben Hill Griffin stadium on the UF campus at halftime of Florida's spring game april 9th. Those three all Hesiman winners, Spurrier in 66, Wuerffel in 96 and Tebow in oh-7.
The latter two both led the gators to national championships, Wuerffel in his Heisman season, Tebow part of two titles in oh-6 and oh-8. Spurrier came back to his alma mater and led Wuerffel and the Gators to that 96 title. He also won 7 SEC championships.
The sculptures, paid for by private donations, weigh a combined 17 thousand pounds, they'll be installed on the west side of the stadium entrance. Wuerffel, Spurrier and Tebow all expected to be a big part of that unveiling ceremony.
