Marianna, FL---To say the least first year head coach Greg Franklin has some work ahead of him as he guides the Lady Indians basketball program into this coming season.

Coach Franklin currently working to get his team into playing shape.

Franklin taking over for David Lane who left after 9 years to take an assistants job at Drake.

Greg working with a roster that returns just one starter from a team that was 4th in the always tough Panhandle Conference last season, with just ten players total.

"The first thing we have to do is asses what level of talent we have and then also how many bodies you got." says coach Franklin. "You always want to play up temp, play fast. But obviously our numbers our down a little bit, with one returner from last year. And then we missed on a couple of kids late, international kids late. Our numbers are a little down. Would I love to play fast and get up and down the floor, sure. But to win basketball games I don't think that's gonna be good for our team to be going at a really, really fast pace."

The Lady Indians make their season debut November 2nd as part of a season opening tournament at Gulf Coast.
