Freeport Bulldogs Work Through Thanksgiving

Freeport, FL--The Freeport Bulldogs are just three wins away from the school's first ever football State Championship. The first of those three wins must come Friday in the State Region Finals. For the Bulldogs, this will be their second state playoff games. The Bulldogs, thanks to a 32-18 win last week at Vernon, will take their act west for a rematch with district foe Northview, who beat the 'dogs earlier this season. Getting this far in the playoffs means working through the Thanksgiving break, and that's just fine with the guys in orange and blue and Head Coach Jim Anderson. "It's been going well, our guys have worked hard. It's a big commitment to lose a lot of their vacation. But we know it's a priviledge to come and practice during Thanksgiving week, we've earned it. And so they're doing a fine job. You know I'm confident that if we play the best we can than our guys will be successful. We've just gotta be focused and hope everybody enjoys their Thanksgiving but when Friday comes back around, we're here getting ready to go play the game, our guys have really gotta be thinking football."

The two other area 1-A teams practicing through Thanksgiving, Chipley and Holmes who go head to head Friday night in Bonifay. That one also a rematch of a district game won by Holmes back on November 4th. The winner of these two region finals will meet next week in the State Semifinals.
