Freeport Student Finalist for High School Heisman

Panama City - A Freeport High School Seniors is one of twelve student athletes being recognized nationally for his achievements on and off the field. He's a finalist for Wendy's High School Heisman Award.

The school and Wendy's representatives surprised Collin Myrick Monday afternoon during a pep rally. The students are judged based in their academic achievement, involvement in extra-curricular activities and community leadership.

Myrick's been selected as one of the nation's top twelve applicants after more than 48,000 students applied across the country. He'll make a trip to New York in December where the winner will be announced on ESPN.
