Freeport beats Vernon at home

FREEPORT, Fla- Freeport and Vernon squared off on the baseball diamond Tuesday for a shot in the region semi's.

Freeport, the champs of district one, hosting Vernon in the playoff opener.

Michael Graziani gets the start for the home team and man was he sharp early on, gets two strikeouts here in the first.

His counterpart Shawn Herbert also sharp, he too gets some early K's, this one here in the second.

Graziani still cruising in the 4th, ends that frame with another strikeout, his 8th of the game. Bottom half of that inning Herbert falters, walks 3 including JR Fannin here with two outs and the bases loaded, Brandon Head scores the first run of the game.

Next hitter is Nick Russell and he gets plunked on the helmet, it's 2-0, then it's Graziana with the sharp grounder through the right side, two more runs come home.

A wild pitch plates another run in the inning, Graziani meanwhile would give up 3 runs but goes the distance striking out 14, Bulldogs win it 6-3, they're 14-10 and they'll play at Bozeman Friday in the region semi's.
