Freeport, FL-- For our area just three area prep football teams are still working this week, still playing towards a 1A State Championship.
One of them the Freeport Bulldogs who after going to Vernon and getting a 14 point win in their region semifinal last Friday, will load up the bus again Friday for another road trip. That one takes the now 8-3 Bulldogs to Bratt over in the Pensacola area to take on a 7-3 Northview team that beat Wewa last week in it's playoff opener. The Chiefs a team Freeport's rather familiar with. Freeport Head Coach Jim Anderson says "We've already played Northview, they're a district game for us, and we played up there and they beat us 35-21. We're going up there again. We played 'em twice last year, we beat 'em in the regular season then they came back and beat us in the playoffs. We're just glad to have the opportunity. We know we're big underdogs. Coach Sid Wheatley and his staff have done a fine job, they've got a lot of talent. You know they put 60-something points on a good Wewa team, we're gonna have our hands full and our guys are definitely gonna have to play our best."

The Bulldogs now three wins away from their first ever football state title. A win this Friday puts them into the region finals against the winner of the Chipley at Holmes game Friday.
