Freeport, FL----It's a rather big meet ahead for some of the state's top track and field athletes, and that includes Gabe Moore, the pride of Freeport High School.
Gabe is among those set to compete Friday at the State Meet at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville.
Gabe's won a national championship in the pentathlon. he's competed on the world stage, and even placed at state before, but he's never won an state gold medal.
He's hoping to change that in Jacksonville, as he competes in four events, the pole vault, long jump, discus and 110 hurdles.
Gabe telling us via text Thursday he's in the best shape of his life, he feels great, and he says winning a state title will feel different than anything he's experienced in sport.
And he adds, to bring a state title, a gold medal back to Freeport would be amazing.
We wish Gabe and the other area track athletes the best of luck at that meet in Jacksonville.
