Freeport, FL---Freeport star Gabe Moore is returning to the world stage to compete in the next several days. Gabe's heading to Eugene Oregon Friday for the International Athletics Federation's World Junior Championships, which begin July 22nd.
Gabe will represent the United States in the decathlon against the best 19 and under athletes on the planet.
"Well as of right now, I'm ranked eighth in the world in the age group." Moore told us Thursday. "So you know, top eight get points. But of course, I want to medal, top three. When you go in and you're on the starting line next to these guys from Russia, and Germany, and Spain, and all this, it's a lot different but at the same time, you can't be like 'Man I'm intimidated' because you're in the same position they are."
Gabe's looking to improve upon the 6th place finish he had last year at the junior Worlds in the octathlon. That competition was in Ukraine.
