GC Coach Talks About Bad Timing of Forced Day Off Wednesday

Panama City, FL---The forced "day off" Wednesday coming at a particularly bad time for Vernette Skeete and her Lady Commodores who are now 2-4 in conference play.

They're coming off back to back losses to Chipola at home Saturday, and at Tallahassee Tuesday night. So the last thing coach Skeete wanted was to be worrying about her players' safety, and not being able to get them in the gym to go over what's ailing the team.

"So that's been kind of frustrating" says coach Skeete "so you don't get to review all the things that kind of happened. And it goes, and it prolongs, and now we've got to get ready for Saturday. So we can't really revisit all the stuff that happened on Tuesday and because now our mindset has to be going towards the future. So we kind of had to put that on pause, even though the frustration is still there. We've got to put it on pause and try to get ready to win Saturday's game."

Gulf Coast, able to get back to practice Thursday, hosts 4-1 Northwest Florida Saturday at 5:30 in what you could call a must win situation for the Lady Commodores. Chipola meanwhile, now atop the league at 6-0 hosts Tallahassee Saturday evening.
