Gators Fire Offensive Coordinator, Offensive Line Coach

Gainesville, FL --- After falling to Florida State in their season finale, the worst Florida football season in recent history finally came to an end, as the Gators enter an offseason of rebuilding and retooling.

Change has begun immediately in Gainesville, as Head Coach Will Muschamp announced Sunday the firings of offensive coordinator Brent Pease and offensive line coach Tim Davis.

The changes were expected after UF finished 112th in the nation in total offense in their first losing season since 1979.

Pease finished two years of his four year contract, as the Gators will owe the coach $1.2 million that remained on his deal.

Even with those moves made, many fans still wondered after the 4-8 season what's the security level of Muschamp.

After the FSU loss, Florida Athletic Director Jeremy Foley restated his support of Muschamp, saying he's his guy to lead the Gators.

Just a year ago, Muschamp was the SEC Coach of the Year, but after this campaign, he's holds a 22-16 record in three seasons at Gainesville.
