Gators New O.C. Meets with Media Monday

Gainesville, FL---Gator Nation got to hear from it's new offensive coordinator Monday down in Gainesville. Kurt Roper, recently hired away from Duke, meeting with the press down Monday.

It didn't take long for Roper to face the question of coaching under a head coach who's tenure may be short-lived, if there isn't big time improvement in 2014. In fact the first question he faced, given the status of head coach Will Muschamp, does he fear the job could be "one and done".

"You know when we started the season last year at Duke," Roper said "we were picked to finish last. And we won ten football games. So I guess my answer to that is 'it's the University of Florida'. It's one of the obvious mainstays in college football. This is a great university with great history and a lot of championships. The year before they went to the Sugar Bowl so obviously there's a lot of good football players on this team. I think it's a chance to come and compete for championships."

Muschamp also spoke at Monday's press conference saying among other things, every starting job, including quarterback, will be up for grabs when spring practice begins.
