Gainesville, FL---For Will Muschamp and the Gators it's yet another good conference test come Saturday as the Gators face the rival Bulldogs in Jacksonville.
You have to hand it to Muschamp and his staff. Most so-called experts predicted something like an 8-4 season for the Gators, and very few if any, though they'd compete for a spot in Atlanta and still be very much in the national championship picture at this point.
The players know that and Muschamp was asked if title possibilities is something he talks about with his guys.
"When there are obvious possible distractions" Muschamp says "for your football team you can stick your head in the sand and pretend everything's okay or you can address it with them, and that's what I choose to do. So I address it with them and say alright if we need to talk about it lets talk about it and we'll all agree that we don't need to."
So that's handled. At any rate, those title game shots likely disappear if they lose Saturday to the Dawgs, who are 6-1 and ranked 10th in the BCS standings.
One good thing says Will, he'll have no problem getting his guys up for this one.
"It's a great environment. The stadium is 50/50 and it's a great environment to be in. When you come across that bridge on the St. Johns River, if your blood isn't boiling, something is wrong with you, I can assure you of that."
Last October, the 'dawgs rallied from a 17-3 deficit to win, but Florida's won 4 of the last 6 and 18 of 22 in this series.
That game Saturday on our CBS sister station WECP set for 2:30 central. Florida favored by 6.
