Gators Slip 5 Spots in AP

Gainesville, FL---The Florida Gators taking a bit of a tumble in the latest Associated Press poll out Monday. Billy Donovan's team, after suffering an ugly loss in Fayetville last Tuesday, dropping from number two to number 7 in the AP.

That first Southeastern Conference loss of the season was an 80-69 defeat at the hands of the Arkansas Razorbacks, a game the Gators were never really in after the first ten minutes during which they fell behind by as many as 23 points.

Florida (19-3, 8-1 SEC) still managed to split its two games last week, coming back Saturday night and beating Mississippi State 83-58.

Florida next plays Tuesday at home against Kentucky (7 p.m., ESPN), which slipped into the AP Top 25 this week at No. 25. Kentucky (17-6, 8-2) is back in the poll for first time since Nov. 26.

The Gators are hoping to end a five game losing streak to Kentucky.
