Grand Slam's World Series Opens Play

Panama City Beach, FL---Every kid that's ever picked up a bat has dreamed of getting a chance to win the World Series.

While youth ballplayers are a little too small to be thinking about the bigs, they are still chasing after championships at Frank Brown Park for the 2014 Grand Slam World Series of Baseball.

Wednesday kicked off play of the first of four sessions which will run through Sunday the 22nd.

50 teams are signed up for this week's World Series, ranging from ages as young as nine to as old as 14, including the 10 and 12 year old Panama City Beach Bashers.

For these kids, this is their moment.

"This is the culmination to a lot of teams seasons. They've had the fall season, the spring, and now they're finally taking the end of their season right here in Panama City Beach, Florida at Frank Brown Park."

Wednesday's play wrapped up seeding. Tournament action begins Thursday.
