Panama City, FL---Call it a new era of Gulf Coast Softball. That college today introducing a new head coach.
That new coach is Beth Wade, who is an FSU alum who was part of three ACC championships.
More recently she comes south from Troy where she's been an assistant coach the last two years. She's also been an assistant Lynn University in Boca, Appalachian State and TCC.
After four years playing at the highest level, then seven years total as an assistant, Wade feels she's ready for her first head coaching gig.
"I'm ready to accept that challenge," says Wade. "I think that the coaches I've coached under have prepared me for those challenges. You know you see things, whether it's the program you played under, or the coaches that you coached under, you know you take a little bit of this, that from each one, and you kind of make who you are. And you kind of develop how you want to be as a coach, and as a head coach."
Wade takes over for Susan Painter who was let go a couple of months ago after allegedly stealing from her student athletes.
