Gulf Coast Prepares for Another Road Trip

Panama City, FL---The Lady Commodores basketball team is getting set to hit the road yet again, for a weekend tourney in Daytona.

The Lady Commodores haven't played on the home floor since mid-November. Still, despite 6 road games so far, they've racked up a 9-1 mark.

The lone loss coming against what coach Skeete calls a very good Walter State team, and that she says was a tad humbling for her girls. Still having won 9 of ten, well she's a bit worried about her team being just a bit overconfident at this point.

"It's the fallout of playing teams where you have won by 20 or 30. Kids get to thinking Oh well we're there." coach Skeete says. "You're not there. When conference starts, the ball game completely shifts and it's elevated. And that's something that we continue to communicate."

Friday and Saturday it's games against Hillsborough and Daytona respectively. Then it's trips to tournaments at Northwest Florida and Ocala.

In fact the Lady Commodores won't play at home again until their conference opener against Northwest January 5th.
