Gulf Coast Prepares for Visit From Chipola

Panama City, FL---It is a rather big date ahead for the Gulf Coast and Chipola teams, who will gather Saturday night at the Harrison Field House.

Let's talk about the ladies here. The Lady Indians are 17-2 overall, 2-1 in conference play.

That has them a game behind the Lady Commodores who are three and oh in league play, 18-1 overall.

Having won at home over Northwest, then getting road wins at Pensacola and Tallahassee, I asked Gulf Coast head coach Vernette Skeete if she thinks her players are building a head of steam so to speak early in the conference schedule.

"No actually, we are still struggling shot wise and adjusting to the speed and the level of intensity. And hopefully we can get a good shooting game coming along here. But we are adjusting when it comes to knowing what to do when the game's on the line and in the pressure situations. I think they're showing a great example of being able to execute down the stretch and when we need a stop. But our flow is still off and hopefully it clicks in here soon.:
