Gulf Coast opens the baseball season with First Pitch Classic

PANAMA CITY, Fla- Believe it or not it's time for the softball and baseball teams of the Panhandle Conference to begin playing for real.

The Commodores opened up their season with a Friday morning game against Meridian Mississippi in their 2nd annual First pitch Classic. Nick Allbritton getting the start for the Dores and he was solid through 3 1/2 innings, but in the fourth he gave up a solo home run that started a run for the Eagles. Meridian got 11 hits, and goes on to win 7-3.

The Commodores continue play in the First Pitch Classic against Gordan College Saturday at 5 p.m.
