PANAMA CITY, Fla- There's an upbeat feeling around the Gulf Coast men's basketball practices this week.

You see Jay Powell's squad coming off three straight wins in the Thanksgiving weekend tournament the 'dores hosted. That has then now 6-4, and with some momentum heading into tomorrow night's home game against Alabama Southern. Perhaps the key ingredient in the three game spurt, team chemistry, which Powell says goes beyond the court, as evidenced by what he saw Saturday after they beat Walters State.

Along with team chemistry Jay believes a reason for 6 wins in ten games so far, has to do with the fact his guys possess a rare quality these days, they listen to their coach.
