Lynn Haven, FL---We've known for some weeks Lynn Haven businessman James Finch had worked out a deal to sell his Phoenix Racing Team.
We now know for certain who it is he closed that deal with. Confirming speculation that's circulated for the last month, the buyer is Harry Scott Jr., a co-owner of Turner-Scott Motorsports which runs a Nationwide and two Truck Series rides.
Scott will assume control of the No. 51 Chevrolet and the rest of the team when the Sprint Cup Series goes to the Atlanta Motor Speedway for the AdvoCare 500 on Sept. 1. Finch will run the team until then.
Finch and Phoenix are in Michigan this weekend and it will use Truck Series title contender Brendan Gaughan behind the wheel in the Sprint race Sunday. Finch with a sponsor for that event, calling the 51 car the "South Point Resort and Casino Chevy".
