High School Football

We start on the prep football front and a big district opener for two area teams on similar tracks, Niceville and Mosley. They both began the season with 4 straight wins, and then both stumbled leading into their head to head matchup this Friday. The Eagles losing at home to Pace 31-17, the 'fins losing to nemesis Leon 49-47. So neither comes into this all important matchup with serious momentum. Worse yet for Mosley, injuries have sidelined their top two runners #4 Deric Carter here, and Jackson Platt, both are out this week, Carter, who's over a thousand all purpose yards already, suffered a concussion last week, Platt a foot injury.

Mosley Head Coach
¶"The kids that we have that are coming in, filling in they're very optimistic and they're playing hard, so I look for us to give 'em a good ballgame. We're gonna try to mix it up, so all of them have a share of toting the football. Fortunately we got our line still and quarterback, so I feel comfortable these kids are going to be able to execute it, we've just narrowed our plays that we're able to run with the short period of time getting them ready."

4-A District 2 with just four teams, so only three league games, adding to the pressure of each one. Kickoff Friday night set for 7.
