We start with prep football and with a look ahead to another key district games, this one in 3-A district one. That game being Arnold at Choctaw. The Marlins are still unbeaten, now four and oh and coming off back to back district wins over Bay and Gulf Breeze, so they are two and oh in district play. The Indians meanwhile, they have
struggled overall, just 1-3, but they have split their two district games, a win a couple of weeks ago over Rutherford, then a 49-0 loss last week to the district favorite.
Arnold Head Coach
"They played Pensacola this week and lost big time but they're gonna be ready to play us. Last year it was the same thing, they were one and three, we were four and oh, the came over here, we thought we had an easy game and they put it on us. They knocked a lot of our guys out of that game. We had three people get hurt and were out for the entire season. We weren't mentally ready to play, it was my fault, we didn't have them ready to play. Hopefully with all of the adversity right now with sickness and injuries, we can bounce back and overcome it. We have got to play tough physical football this week."
Hale mentioning injuries, Arnold unable to avoid them last week in the win over Gulf Breeze.
"Hope to God no one else gets hurt because we don't really have any backups at running back, we don't have any backups at linebacker, defensive ends and secondary right now. We got about 7 guys out here right now not even dressed out, and two home sick. This is about where it happened last year, this time last year we started getting people hurt, banged up and it destroyed our team. Hopefully we can overcome the adversity we're getting ready to face Friday night."
That game at Etheridge Stadium Friday night, 7 o'clock. We'll be there for the highlights.
