Panama City Beach, FL --- For the sixth straight year, the Hombre Golf Club hosted the National Christian College Athletic Association Championships.
23 men's and 14 women's teams from schools all over the country took to the course on a beautiful day for the final 18 of the 54 hole event.
In the highlights shown above, Christian Constance out of North Greenville University putting on 9, gets par.
Then it's a shot at birdie from off the green for Johnny Antell of Dallas Baptist, and he gets a nice piece of the stick and the birdie.
Adam Wright of Lee University knocks down a par saver on 9.
As it turns out, Lee out of Tennessee takes first place both men's and women's. Dallas Baptist second on each side.
The men's low round, Zach Moore, that's him there missing the bird on 9, out of Southern Wesleyan, 5 under in the 54 holes. Courtney Shelton of Lee the women's medalist also 5 under.
NCCAA Executive Director Dan Wood says there's a reason why the coaches and programs keep wanting to come back to Hombre.
"We put it out for bids and our coaches have a voice in that. This is where they want to come," said Wood. "And it's a cliche to call it old school, but this is. This is not 7,000, 7,500 yards with moguls and mounds. This is you got to hit it there. And if you try to get out of sequence, kind of circumvent the system, this place will bite you."
