Panama City, FL---Playing on their home turf at Weeks Field gave the Bay Tornadoes some familiarity when it comes to the District 5A-1 tournament. But they were the visitors in their quarterfinals matchup against Gulf Breeze.
Bay entered the tournament as the five-seed, but they certainly didn't play like one Monday night.
In the first two innings, the Tornadoes bats were good for three runs in each frame, taking a 6-0 lead before the fourth seeded Dolphins knew what happened.
The runs dried up from there, but the Bay pitching stayed strong, including starter Sean Nguyen, as the host team only surrendered one run all game in their 6-1 victory.
The win is number 12 for the Tornadoes on the season. They advance to face top seed and 23-2 Mosley in the district semifinals Tuesday at 7 PM.
In the highlights attached above, Bay's excited as they're up 6-0 after two.
In the top of the third, they stay agressive, Tristen Ragen swipes second, but would be stranded.
Bay was doing fine though, thanks to Sean Nguyen, who shut down the Dolphins bats.
The fifth-seed Tornadoes defend their turf, defeating the four-seed Dolphins 6-1.
