Indians, Commodores Head South For State

Marianna, FL---Wednesday was travel day for both the Gulf Coast and Chipola baseball teams, who loaded up the buses and headed south towards Lakeland.

That's where they'll start play Friday in the 8 team, double elimination tournament. Before he left, coach Johnson talked to us about his team's readiness, based on the road it's traveled so far.

"You know I think we played a really good schedule. We played people that are the top people in the country and the top people in the state. And our conference was very good this time. So you know we go down there I think we played a level where we're not gonna see anything better than we've seen. I think it's just a matter of seeing a bunch of teams that are really good, day after day. So hopefully we can deal with that."

Gulf Coast opens Friday at one eastern against Eastern Florida State, Chipola plays Friday at 7 against Central Florida.
