Chipley, FL---When it comes to small town rivalries, well they don't come much better with more history than the one between Chipley and Graceville.
Those two separated by a few miles of Highway 77, meet in Chipley Friday night in what is our "Personal Attention Dental Care Game of the Week!"
Graceville comes in 4-5, so they're hoping to end the year at 500. Chipley's 6-3, but also missed out on a playoff berth. So this one is it for both squads, perhaps even more motivation going against their longtime rivals.
"There's no doubt." says Chipley head coach Chip Harris. "Not being able to go to the playoffs we're relying a lot on our seniors to bring their A game so that we can feed off of it. Our kids have played really hard and really well this year, especially in the last four or five weeks. And we want to end on a positive note."
Graceville head coach Ty Wise agrees with all that, admitting there's a certain feeling of finality to Friday night. "You know no question that our kids recognize this is the last opportunity for us to play together as a team. I know that our seniors have obviously pinpointed this game from when we started in the off season as an important game. And I'm sure that they would love to have their best game of the year, being that it's gonna be our last one."
That game in Chipley set for 7, one of many we'll feature on Friday Night Overtime!
