Panama City, FL--It's another big road trip for a youth basketball team in Bay County this Summer. The Lynn Haven Wildcats are back in the AAU basketball National tournament for a second year in a row.

Destin Dunton
Wildcats Guard

"Being able to do it again it's a real honor because I know not everybody gets the opportunity to do it twice. Last year we came up short but this year I think we can take it all the way."

These young men have been playing together for a long time and it shows come game time.

Josh Wade
Wildcats Forward
"It's great man, I've been with these dudes since I was like in 4th grade. We've been working together all the time, we go to the rec center together, we play basketball together, we are like a family, we do real good together."

After the 7th grade team took home the state title in may, and the 8th graders were runnersup, coach decided to combine the two for their best shot at a national title.

Howard Steele
Head Coach

"By us having the experiece of being there before, we're trying to make sure as coaches, that we don't make the same mistakes as before, and just prepare the kids. They've got to be tougher than what they were before. That's the main thing, being tough and being focused on what we're doing."

The competition will be tough, and the Wildcats will have to play great basketball to win it, but that's why they play...
(Steele)
"They're pretty good down there, but we have some great confidence that we're gonna do something. We have some great players around here. I think we can make it, I think we can do it. We got knocked off last year, it was o.k., but we're coming back hard, harder than ever, we're gonna do out thing."

Most of the players will be moving on to high school teams next year, and will be matched up against each other in the years to come, so they want to win this one as team.

"We just wouldn't want to share it with anybody else, because these guys are amazing."

The team will leave for Orlando Wednesday, play begins on Thursday and runs through the 21st.
