Daytona Beach, FL--To say the least it's already been a rather eventful few days for James Finch and his Phoenix team down at Daytona.
In fact it's caused him to have to go into overtime with the paint and body guys, as they've already lost two cars to the effort and Speed Week is just beginning, Finch explains.
"At the Shootout we were having practice and Tony Stewart got into us and had a five or six care pileup and destroyed that car. So we had to build a car between Friday and Saturday night. We had our Daytona 500 cars there and we couldn't afford to lose one of those in the Bud Shootout. So we took a 4th car and put it together and did the best we could do. And it was doing really good and get caught up in that huge wreck there at the last and tore that car up too."
Nonetheless James says he and the team are pleased with how Kurt Busch is handling all of this, and they feel confident this week in Daytona. Newschannel 7 Sports will have much more on Phoenix's build-up to the Daytona 500 all week long.
