Marianna, FL---All the nasty weather in the area Wednesday forced Chipola and Gulf Coast to postpone the first of their crucial three game to Thursday afternoon.
Let's hope the weather's better by five Thursday. At any rate, Gulf Coast, at 5-4 in conference, one game ahead of 4-5 Chipola going into that series. In speaking with Chipola head coach Jeff Johnson, his team's league mark is exactly what it should be given the effort his guys have put in so far.
"Well we just need to be a little more determined. And we need to play a little harder. Those are the two things I'm most disappointed with, is our intensity level we play at, and our determination level hasn't been very good. And you know you add to that we haven't played really well in any of the phases, we haven't played great defense, we haven't pitched real well and offensively we've struggled. And when you do that, you end up with a 4-5 record and we're about where we deserve to be right now."
They're hoping to play Thursday, Friday and Saturday, but if it rains again Thursday, they'll play in Marianna Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Frazier Field.
