Jeff Johnson talks about trying to get his Chipola baseball team to play with more consistency down the homestretch of the Panhandle season.

Marianna, FL-- We start up at Chipola where Coach Jeff Johnson is working his guys towards what he hopes will be a bounce back game against Tallahassee. Monday the Indians blew a chance to pull within a game of first place Northwest Florida State, by dropping a 6-4 game at Tallahassee, Chipola used five different pitchers, none of whom lasted more than three innings and combined they gave up 8 hits, 6 walks, hit two batters and threw four wild pitches, the eventual game winning run coming on one of those in the 7th.

Jeff Johnson
Chipola Head Coach

"Yeah Scott we're very inmature, and it's shown. I thought we'd grow up a little bit as the season progressed, but our inmaturity and lack of returning guys has come back to haunt us some this year. We're very inconsistent, on certain days we seem to put it together and play pretty well. On other days it's a pain to sit in our dugout and watch it sometimes. It's been a tough year, we're fortunate to be where we are right now, we got to finish this thing strong and see what happens from there."

So Chipola now two games behind the Raiders heading into Wednesday's 5 o'clock home game against TCC. After that just 4 conference games remain.
