This a homecoming for the new coach Brown, who's father Jerry was a head coach and teach at Rutherford for years, that's Jerry Brown there at today's announcement.
Jeremy went to Rutherford for three years, then graduated from Bay in '92.
After spending some time as a j.v. coach at Rutherford, he spent time as an assistant at Sarasota Booker and Venice high schools. Then moved to Jefferson east of Tallahassee, one year as an assistant, the last three as head coach. In 2011 he led Jefferson to the 1A state title.
To say the least coach Brown is excited about this career "homecoming".
"I think just knowing the area, being from here, being from here is gonna be a huge advantage. A lot of the guys I played with, that I competed agaist over the years, their kids go to school now. And I know a lot of those guys have players here. And I know we have some good athletes in the whole county, we've got some great athletes here. And so just that history, trying to get it back to where Tommy Oliver is full on Friday night when there's a county game, I think that's the environment that I grew up in and I think the kids in our program, they deserve to be a part of that same type of environment."
