Undated---In the wake of the sale of his Phoenix Racing Team James Finch is hearing some nice words from one of his many drivers over the years, Brad Keselowski.
Brad's the driver who delivered Finch his one and only win on the Cup Circuit, the 2009 Aaron's 499 at Talladega.
He won it after getting tangled up with Ryan Newman in the final turn and Newman wound up airborne.
Brad, getting his first Cup victory that day as well, says it's sad to see Finch leave as a team owner because they share a special bond.
Brad telling Fox Sports "Anytime you win is special, but when you do it for a car owner and a driver for the first time it is kind of a double whammy! That is a bond we will always share."
Keselowski, who now drives for Penske goes on to say "It's unfortunate to see because James has played a role in a lot of different things with the sport. Whether it was giving drivers opportunities on the front side or back side of their career or crew members of the same sort. Not having him as a car owner, he will definitely be missed."
Even though the sale is closing this week, Finch is staying on to guide the team for several more weeks, leading up to race in Chicago when the new owners will take over.
